Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2021

Hello again stampin' friends ....

It's time for the Color Fusers Blog Hop for July and this month we are working with Basic White, Basic Black, Petal Pink and Gold. I really had to put my thinking cap on for this challenge, and after a few duds, I am happy to share this card:

I wanted to create something elegant since gold was one of the colors, and after going through all my stamp sets, I chose the Elegantly Said Stamp Set for this project.

ELEGANTLY SAID CLING STAMP SET

My card base is Basic White Thick 5 1/2" x 4 1/4 with a Basic Black mat measuring 5 1/4" x 4".

For my next layer I used a piece of Petal Pink trimmed to 5 1/8' x 3 7/8", on which I randomly white heat embossed the corner flourish then stamped over the whole panel using Petal Pink and the flower, using a tissue to wipe off any ink covering the heat embossing.

Using the Scalloped Contour Dies, I die-cut:

  • the fourth largest using Vellum and attached centrally,
  • the third largest using Basic White and wrapping Gold Simply Elegantly Trim around, tying off in a bow on the right side and mounting, and
  • Petal Pink for the second largest and mounting.

Using the Brilliant Wings Dies, I die-cut the same butterfly using Petal Pink, Basic White and Gold Foil, attached these together by placing adhesive down the centre only, and attaching centrally to the Petal Pink rectangle.

I decided to add the sentiment to the inside of the card, rather than on the card front, using the largest Scalloped Contour Die, with the sentiment gold heat embossed and the flower second-generation (stamp off on scrap first) stamped over the top.

Here's one final close-up. Be sure to hop on over to the next blog post by clicking the "next stop" button below.
