Pop of Petals Picture Frame

I was looking for some home decor projects and came across some quick instructions for this gorgeous frame by a fellow demonstrator named Eva Dobilas of ilovetostamp.com. I used similar colours but changed a few other things.

For the background, I used a stencil I created with a Window Sheet with a die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits and mixed Embossing Paste with a drop of Bermuda Bay Ink refill and used a spatula to spread the mixture over the top. Then I watercolour washed the background with Coastal Cabana inkpad.

For the ferns, I watercolour washed some scrap watercolour paper with Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green and die-cut the fern from the Tropical Thinlits Dies.

The flowers are stamped with Sahara Sand and the colours paired as follows: Daffodil Delight with Pumpkin Pie, Coastal Cabana with Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo with Cherry Cobbler.

The frame I used was 6" x 8" so I trimmed:
  • the watercolour paper to 5" x 7"
  • first layer Basic Black to 5 1/8" x 7 1/8"
  • Sahara Sand layer 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" and
  • final Basic Black layer to 6" x 8" to fit the frame.

Painters Tape Technique Cards

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Today I have a set of cards using the "Painters Tape Technique. This is a really cool idea and the possibilities are endless.

I kept with just a few colours and all the stamping with Memento.

Here is a quick snapshot of the technique. Just grab a few coloured inkpads, a roll of Painters Tape (masking tape will not work - will stick to the cardstock), press a strip of tape across the inkpad, leaving enough on the ends to hold and transfer to cardstock.

Here are the individual photos and a full Product List at the end of this post.

Vintage Background Cards

A while ago, I bought just about all the "Background" stamps and had yet to use them, so I thought I would make up a workshop.

I have given them a gentle vintage theme and used just three colours; Crumb Cake, Powder Pink and Early Espresso, ink-blending most of the edges with Crumb Cake.

I also used the Stamparatus with the Background stamps, trimming each piece and using the leftovers for stamping and die-cutting.

If you would like to purchase a full colour PDF Tutorial for these cards (imperial measurements) the cost is AUD$7.00 (PayPal payments accepted). Please contact me with your Email address via the Contact Form or my Facebook Page. The PDF will be emailed to you upon payment being received.

Here are the individual photos. See the end of this post for a full Product List.
