Split Negative Technique Cards

Hi again stampin' friends

Recently I started a new Facebook Group called "Get Crafty with Gail" where I share weekly FB Live tutorials on any number of topics - some are challenges, themes or even techniques. This "interactive" group is open to anyone who would like to join.

You can join the group by clicking here

So, last week I decided the challenge would be to go through all my earlier projects and find one to recreate with new goodies. I selected three images of projects I created last year, set up a Facebook Poll so everyone could vote for the project they wanted to see and "Split Negative" technique was the winner by far. These are the cards I created and you can watch the replay here:

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial - as you can see, this technique is very easy and very effective.

Thanks for stopping by

Cheers

Art Gallery Floral Cards **Sneak Peek**

I love getting deliveries of new goodies to play with and yesterday I received two boxes full of soon-to-be-released Stampin' Up! January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue products and my first "sneak peek" uses two bundles - Art Gallery and Many Messages.

These two and three-step floral images from the Art Gallery Stamp Set are gorgeous when paired with Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.

I have double-layered some flowers using Dimensionals, coloured the Rhinestone Jewels with Stampin' Blends and added the pretty Pool Party Sheer Ribbon to finish the look.

All the sentiments were stamped and die-cut using the Many Messages Stamp Set with coordinating Messages Die.

If you would like to purchase the full colour PDF Tutorial on how to make these cards, the cost is AUD$10.00. Please click on the Buy Now button and you will be directed to my Google Drive to download the PDF after payment is accepted.

Please note: my tutorials ARE NOT emailed - you will need to download the document to your device when it opens after payment. **Sneak Peek** Enjoy The Moment Stamp Set

I had a little bit of time between chores so sat down to work with this new stamp set from the soon to be released Stampin' Up! 2021 January-June Mini Catalogue.

I will admit, I was unsure how to use the images so I decided on white heat embossing and a little background splatter, using Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue cardstock colours.

The collection of cards consist of two standard sized cards and three 4" x 4" mini note cards.

To create the splatter effect, I added a few drops of the Whisper White Refill on an acrylic block with a drop of water and used a fine paintbrush to "flick" the ink over the cardstock.

Color Fusers Blog Hop November 2020

Hello and welcome to my very first "Color Fusers Blog Hop". I was delighted to be asked to join this group of very talented designers and look forward to sharing my projects with you.

I must admit, my first color challenge was definitely a "challenge" lol. These are not normally colors I would use together so I had to put my thinking cap on. I decided to go with vellum to soften the colors and using the So Much Love Stamp Set.

I started with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Whisper White Thick card base with a 5 1/4" x 4" mat piece embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I then trimmed a strip of vellum 2 1/2" wide and white heat embossed the roses. To add the color, I turned the strip over and used Shaded Spruce and Poppy Parade dark Stampin' Blends for the roses and leaves. For the little buds, I used the finest Water Painter and picked up the color from the Bumble Bee Stampin' Pad.

To add a little dimension to the vellum strip, I die-cut the curvy border from the Curvy Dies. I then trimmed a strip of Whisper White Thick to 3" wide and lined up the vellum strip on top to get the positioning of the die, used a little tape to hold the curvy die in position and ran it through my die-cutting machine.

Next, I attached all the pieces together, wrapped the Shaded Spruce Argyle Satin Ribbon around and secured at the back. To finish off the card, I wrapped the Gold Cord around and tied off in a bow and stamped my greeting using Poppy Parade and die-cut with the Tasteful Label Dies, and mounted on the card front.

When I thought I had finished, I realised the roses need a little Wink of Stella to make them pop!

Phew! My first challenge is complete and I look forward to next month's colour challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and please continue hopping on over to see what fabulous creation Bonnie has made this month.

 Cheers

Gail
